This year Katy Newman will be hosting the picnic at Pear Tree Barn on the outskirts of Brackenfield.  As usual a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided but members should bring along their own food for the picnic.
There will also be the opportunity to visit the alpaca farm across the road where members can take an alpaca for a walk, get up and close to this year’s crias (baby alpacas) or just find out more about these fascinating animals.

Ways to stay in touch with us

Posted on April 25, 2017 at 12:39 pm

The best way is to come along to the meetings, more details are on the meetings section of the website. If you aren’t able to make it to a meeting contact details for the committee are available on the contacts page of this site. We also have a facebook page and group.

Facebook page
We post updates from us about changes to meeting and other events such as courses and shows we are involved in on the facebook page. By following the page these updates will appear in your facebook feed keeping you up to date on what’s going on.

Facebook Group
This has been set up as a discussion forum. The more it is used the more useful it will be. The plan is for conversation between members, we hope it will be good for asking advice from the members of Derbyshire smallholders, sourcing stock and services locally and just generally sharing what’s happening on your smallholding. We hope it’ll be a useful resource so give it a try and let us know if it’s working or not.

When you sign up to the group it might take a day or two for us to confirm your request.

Obviously, any advice you may get on the page from other members you follow at your own risk. Please take suitable precautions if you are meeting anyone from the group to buy or sell anything. You will be using the discussion page at your own risk and any opinions posted on the page are that of individuals not the Derbyshire smallholders association.
